Softball Hosts Kennesaw State for Final Home Game

The Alabama State softball team (9-28) will play host to Kennesaw State in its final home game of the season at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex on Wednesday, April 17.
 
Wednesday's game against Kennesaw State (27-16) will begin at 5 p.m. (CT). Live stats will be available and can be viewed online at: (http://www.sidearmstats.com/alasu/softball/scoreboard.aspx ).This will be the second time these two teams would have met this season, with the Owls capturing a 4-2 victory in Statesboro, Ga. during the Georgia Southern tournament.
 
The Lady Hornets enter Friday's contest coming off a weekend series sweep of Alcorn State. ASU has gone 3-0 in the past three games and is led by junior Meagan Dixon, who holds a .667 batting average over the stretch, which includes 10 RBI, six hits, five runs scored, a triple, and a three-run home run. She has also added three stolen bases to her resume.
 
Freshman Rachel Mills has also stepped up. Mills also holds a .667 batting average with two hits, two runs scored, and a RBI during the three-game stretch. 
 
In conference play, junior Meagan Dixon leads the Lady Hornets with a .538 batting average over twelve games, including 21 hits, 16 RBI, twelve runs scored, three home runs, two doubles, and two triples. She also has six stolen bases.  Senior Bailey Patt has a 1.20 ERA, with four wins in five appearances and 15 innings pitched. Patt has given up only 11 hits and three walks. She also has eight strikeouts to her resume.
                                                                                                             
As a team for the season, ASU currently holds a .254 batting average, with 227 hits, 113 runs scored, 92 RBI, 26 doubles, seven home runs, and seven triples.
 
The Lady Hornets have 68 stolen bases on the season as a team and is led by senior Brehanna Rodrigues with 32 (2nd in Conference).
