Box Score 2 The Alabama State Softball team was defeated by Murray State 6-2 and North Carolina A&T 9-3 on the first day of the Hornet Invitational.
"In order for us to be the team we need to be, we have to settle down quicker and make our adjustments earlier," Head Coach Telma O'Neal Hall said.
The Lady Hornets (0-7 overall) got off to a slow start in both contest but managed to get two runs off of six hits against Murray State and got a momentum boost from a solo home run hit by
Meagan Dixon in the bottom of the fifth inning against North Carolina A&T.
ASU will have the late game on tomorrow's slate against Gardner-Webb. First pitch for the contest is set for 5:00 p.m.
In the other scehduled games on day one of the Hornet Invitational, Alabama A&m defeated North Carolina A&T 6-4. Murray State took out Gardner-Webb 4-2, and in the night cap AAMU came back inthe seventh inning to beat Gardner-Webb 7-6.
The softball action will resume tomorrow mornig at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex at 9:30 a.m., with North Carolina A&T taking on Alabama A&M.
