Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
TROY – The Alabama State baseball team lost twice against Troy, falling in the resumption of last Tuesday's game and in tonight's game by identical 8-5 scores.

Errors hurt the Hornets (18-8) in both contests, as Alabama State, which made three errors in the first seven innings in Montgomery last Tuesday, made three errors in the crucial seventh inning in Wednesday's full game, leading to four Troy runs, breaking a 4-4 tie.

The Hornets took a 1-0 lead in the second on a solo home run by Dexter Price, his third of the season and second in as many games.

After Troy (12-9) scored two in the second and two in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead, Alabama State chipped away with two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Waldyvan Estrada walked and advanced to second on a balk to lead off the sixth. Emmanuel Marrero then doubled to left center field, scoring Estrada. After Marrero advanced to third and with one out, Price's RBI bunt single scored Marrero.
In the seventh, Einar Muniz singled, and, with one out, Cesar Rivera singled. Estrada then singled up the middle, scoring Muniz to tie the score at 4-4.

Marrero's two-out RBI single in the 9th scored Rivera for the final margin. Marrero and Price each had two hits and two RBI for the Hornets.

In the completion of last Tuesday's game, the Hornets put runners on base in both the eighth and ninth innings, but could not score. Branden Castro had a career-high four RBI in the game.

Alabama State returns to action at Jackson State in a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series. Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game begins at 1 p.m., with internet radio on bamastatesports.com.
