The Alabama State University Lady Hornets softball team will host the Jackson State University Lady Tigers this weekend at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex.

Both clubs are coming off of the 2014 SWAC Round-up held in Longview, Texas, which marked the start of conference play. ASU wrapped up the weekend 4-1, with the lone loss coming against Grambling State on the opening day of competition.
For the weekend, the Lady Hornets hit .326, while driving in 35 runs on 46 hits with 31 RBIs. ASU also added to their league leading homerun total with five, pushing the mark to 20 on the season.
The Lady Hornets were led by senior
Meagan Dixon who, over the weekend, hit .611 (11-for-18), with nine runs scored, three doubles, one triple, three homeruns, and four stolen bases while driving in 12 runs. Â
The Lady Tigers wrapped up the weekend finishing a perfect 5-0 in conference play, and spilt a mid-week series against the Lady Razorbacks of Arkansas on March 25.
"It's going to be a good series this weekend," Alabama State assistant coach Alyssa Smoke said. "It's going to come down to the little things execution wise that will determine the outcome. Both teams are coming off of strong finishes from this past weekend. It should be exciting." Â
