The Lady Hornets softball team will embark on another road trip for its fourth tournament of the season and will be looking to bounce back after dropping two versus Troy at home on Tuesday.
Alabama State (3-12) will head to Deland, Fla. for the Stetson Tournament from Friday through Sunday.
ASU will be scheduled for five games in a three-day span starting play on Friday at 10 a.m. in a rematch with Troy (9-7) of the Sun Belt Conference as the teams will meet for the third time in a four-day span.
The Trojans are coming off a power surge against ASU in which it was led by Hannah Day, who hit 5-for-7 with five runs scored, three home runs and six RBI in the doubleheader.
The Lady Hornets will follow with a game against host Stetson (7-3) of the Atlantic Sun Conference at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday.
The Hatters have yet to play a road game this season, but have put up impressive numbers thus far this season hitting .410 collectively as a team.
Jessica Griffin has led the way with a .552 batting average (16-for-29) with team-highs of six home runs and 21 RBI.
In the circle, Courtney Brandt holds a 3-1 record with a 0.88 ERA and has struck out 19 in 24 innings of work.
ASU continues with two games slated for Saturday with a first pitch against Colgate (0-0) of the Patriot League at 12:30 p.m. and once again against host Stetson at 5:30 p.m.
It turns out that it will be the Raiders' first time on the field in 2015 after the opening five games were cancelled in the N.C. State Tournament at Raleigh, N.C. due to the inclement weather.
Sophomore Katie Bushee led Colgate with a .322 batting average (46-for-143) with 29 runs scored, 13 doubles, three triples and 17 stolen bases in 2014.
Junior Brigit Leuter led the pitching staff in 2014 with a 3.73 ERA, seven wins, 10 complete games and 56 strikeouts in 127.2 innings pitched.
