Among ASU's hottest players is junior Alexis Johnson, who swept both the SWAC and College Sports Madness SWAC Hitter and Player of the Week honors.

Johnson batted 7-for-13 with two walks, two doubles, two home runs, five runs scored, five RBI and a stolen base in the four games played in Irondale.

Johnson ranks second on the team in batting average (.387) and slugging percentage (.661) and leads the team in on-base percentage (.465).

In the circle, Maddie Phelps (3-8) leads the Lady Hornets with a 7.28 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 57.2 innings pitched.

Northern Kentucky (1-11) is coming off a split with Tennessee State in Nashville, Tenn. on Wednesday.

The Norse defeated the Lady Tigers 10-4 in game one and followed with an 8-4 defeat.

NKU's 10-run outburst in game one set a high water mark for the Norse in their Division I era of softball.

The team transitioned from playing in D-II in the Great Lakes Valley Conference to D-I's Atlantic Sun Conference in 2013.

Katelyn Roy hit a grand slam in the win, her 15th career home run, to place her fifth all-time in school history.

Roy leads the team in batting average (.343) and slugging percentage (.686).  She has three home runs and eight RBI.

In the circle, NKU has been led by Ashlynn Roberts who is 1-4 with a 7.30 ERA and nine strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched.
