The Alabama State baseball team returns to Southwestern Athletic Conference play this weekend at Mississippi Valley State.

Saturday's doubleheader has been rescheduled for noon, while Sunday's single game will be at 1 p.m., with a live radio broadcast and live stats on bamastatesports.com.

Alabama State (20-11 overall, 9-3 SWAC) has won five games in row, all in non-conference play. The Hornets have posted wins at Troy, along with home wins in a three-game series sweep of Savannah State, and a victory this past Tuesday over Jacksonville State during the streak.

In playing its best ball of the season, Alabama State has won nine of its last 12 games. Scoring a minimum of six runs per game, the Hornets are batting .337 during this 12-game stretch. It has helped raised ASU's team batting average to .320, ranking behind only Arizona (.327) and LSU (.326).

This is the second series meeting between the Hornets and Delta Devils (6-21-1, 3-11 SWAC). Alabama State won two of three at home last month, as the series moved to Montgomery due to frozen field conditions at Mississippi Valley State.
