TEAM NOTES
Alabama State went 4-0 for the third consecutive week and has won 14 of its last 15 games…the Hornets have at least a two-game lead in the loss column in the SWAC Eastern Division over Jackson State, which is facing Alabama A&M today…the Hornets have scored six or more runs in 19 consecutive games 16-3 record)…the 12-game win streak is the longest in Mervyl Melendez era…Waldyvan Estrada extended his on-base streak to 24 consecutive games…Chris Biocic's 20-game on-base streak ended Friday, but he started a new streak Saturday, reaching base in both games…Wednesday's win over Jacksonville St. was the third by ASU over the Gamecocks this season… the Hornets had won just one time previously in 31 meetings vs. JSU entering 2015…Tyler Howe started all three games… …Charles Taylor (2-2) got the win in relief…Armando Ruiz got the save, his career-high sixth…the weekend sweep gave the Hornets a season sweep of Alcorn State for the first time…Joseph Camacho (9-0) earned the win for the ninth time in 10 starts…the Hornets have won 21 straight games Camacho has started…ASU hit four home runs vs. Alcorn in Saturday's nightcap, the second time in six games the Hornets went deep four times (game 2 at Miss.
