MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State women's bowling team will return to action as they host the ASU Hornet Classic this weekend, Friday November, 18 through Sunday November 20 at the Brunswick Zone Bowling Lanes.

Day one will begin with the 6x5 Baker matches which are slated to begin at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, while six team games will kick off the day on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.Â
On Sunday, the action will begin at 8:30 a.m. with bracket play. Admission to the tournament is free. Â

This year's field will hold five schools from the surrounding state of Alabama.Â
The teams include SWAC schools Alabama A&M, Southern, and Texas Southern, Conference USA's Louisiana Tech and MEAC school Florida A&M.

"All the teams have improved a lot from last year from what I've seen from last week," head coachÂ
Andrew Chatmon said. The competition is going to be stiff."

Last week the ladies didn't fare too well during the Jackson State Sonic Boom Invite in Jackson, Ms.Â
Coach Chatmon expectations are much higher this week.

"I think that we will do much better than we did last week," coach Chatmon said.Â
"Training is what going to get us through the transition and the girls get that. We needed to make some adjustments and improve on execution and I think that we have done so."

Miranda Remmel stood out at the Sonic Boom Invite by being named to the All-Tournament Team with an average over 200.Â
