Lady Hornets sit in second place after day two

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –  Day two of the Hornet Classic was not as sparkling as day one, and the momentum fell and the Lady Hornets bowling team slipped into second place in the standings.
 
The first game of the day saw Alabama State defeat Alabama A&M with a score of 835-571. 
 
As the morning progressed, ASU slipped by shooting a 776 against Southern, who scored an 845 to win the match. 
 
The third game was not where the ladies wanted to go as they lost to Texas Southern 902-829. 
 
Game four was close, but a tough match up as Alabama State defeated Louisiana Tech 893-892.
 
In the final game against FAMU, ASU couldn't hold onto the lead as they lost by a score of 895-879. 
 
Texas Southern (5-5) is in third place (8,768) in the standings behind Alabama State (7-3) which has moved down to second place with a total pin count of 8,806.
 
Louisiana Tech (8-2) leads all teams with a pin count of 9,027 and Southern (5-5/8,462) and FAMU (5-5/8,025) holds the fourth and fifth spots, with Alabama A&M (0-10/5,633) in sixth. 
 
The brackets are set and ASU will face Louisiana Tech in the first round, while Texas Southern will take on Southern and FAMU and Alabama A&M will face off.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday with brackets being set to see what team will play in the championship. 

The first ball will be rolled at 8 a.m. at the Brunswick Zone Bowling Lanes.
