NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Alabama State women's bowling team bounced back in a big way with a 4-2 record on day two of the All-State Sugar Bowl Collegiate Invitational hosted by Tulane University.Â

The Lady Hornets started the day by knocking of No. 25 Texas Southern 1004-887 and followed with a tough loss against No. 6 Vanderbilt (1133-940).

Alabama State regained their composure by defeating SWAC rival Grambling State (1042-740) and the defending SWAC champions Jackson State (904-894) before falling to hosts Tulane (1002-922).

The Lady Hornets closed out their day by defeating another SWAC school in Southern (851-835).

Rebecca Hresko has been the top bowler (14
th overall among individuals) thus for the Lady Hornets, averaging a 209.3 through six games.Â

ASU's
Gabrielle Hosein is 18
th on the leaderboard with a 200 average on the dot through six games.Â
Â
Despite the wins, ASU remained in sixth place out of 11 competing teams in the three-day event.Â
Â
The event will conclude on Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will run until around 12:30 p.m. with a best four-out-of-seven baker style format scheduled to take place. Â

The awards ceremony is scheduled for approximately 12:40 p.m. Â
