TEAM NOTES
Several streaks ended this past weekend –
o   Alabama State was swept in a weekend series for the first time since April 23-25, 2013 at then defending national champion Arizona, ending a streak of 25 consecutive weekend series recording at least one win
o   Friday's loss was the first for Alabama State in a game started by Joseph Camacho since Feb. 22, 2014 at Pacific, ending a streak of 24 consecutive wins. Camacho earned no-decision vs. Northwestern State
o   Hornets were shutout for just the seventh time since 2012 under HC Mervyl Melendez and the first time since April 24, 2013, a 7-0 loss at UAB, a streak of 118 games…It was the first 1-0 shutout loss for ASU since March 6, 2013 at home vs. Jacksonville State

New Faces
o   Four newcomers were in the starting lineup on opening night, junior-college transfers Carlos Ocasio (CF) and Angel Alicea (SS), and freshmen Diandre Amion (DH) and Eriq White (2B)
o   Red-shirt freshman Hunter Phillips doubled in his first career at-bat in pinch-hit role Saturday
