TEAM NOTES

  • Camacho earned first win of the season...Hornets have now won 26 of last 27 games Camacho has started (Camacho 22-0 record during that time)

  • It was the second straight walk-off win on Sunday this season, following the 11-10 win vs. Winthrop on Feb. 28 on Yamil Pagan's game-winning single, scoring Gustavo Rios

  • The sweep over Jackson State was the first at home in the Mervyl Melendez era and just the second by ASU over their archrivals since 2012...Alabama State is now 9-6 at home against Tigers in that time, have won seven straight series over JSU, and now lead head-to-head matchups 16-13 since 2012 in the SWAC's best baseball rivalry

Power Surge

  • The Hornets have hit at least one home run in seven straight games, with eight total homers during that time...the HR streak is two short of last year's nine-game streak (March 25-April 7; 10 home runs)

Don't Count Us Out

  • The Hornets have scored 18 runs in the final three innings of games this season

  • Sunday's win over Jackson State is the first in five occasions this season when trailing after six innings...the Hornets last won when trailing after six innings on May 3, 2015 at Jackson State (trailed 6-3; won 8-6)

Streaking

Strength In Numbers

  • Hornet pitching allowed just 11 runs in four games last week, and yielded only six in the weekend series against Jackson State

    • Relievers - in 11.2 IP, allowed eight hits (three XBH), two runs, walked three and struck out 13.

  • Friday's series opener against Northern Kentucky starts a nine-game home stand in which 12 of next 13 games at Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex

  • Hornets scheduled to play 19 consecutive games in-state between Bowling Green series and next meeting at Jackson State on April 8
