JONESBORO, Ark. - The Alabama State University women's bowling team placed 16th during a three-day event at the Mid-Winter Invitational, hosted by Arkansas State University.
Alabama State (27-36) ran a record of 2-11 during the evening, including 1-2 on the final day Sunday in a best four-out-of-seven baker format.
The Lady Hornets opened play on Friday with an 879-828 victory over Louisiana Tech, as
Rebecca Hresko rolled a team-high 200 in the match. Alabama State dropped matches to Maryland Eastern Shore (818-956), Maryville (795, 834), Lincoln (Mo.) (794-827) and McKendree (812-1,036) during first-day action.
In the second day, the Lady Hornets fell to Central Missouri (864-890), Nebraska (793-963), Lincoln Memorial (795-820), Drury (763-893) and UAB (830-991).
Alabama State began baker play on Sunday against Drury, but fell 4.5-1.5. The Lady Hornets bounced back with a 4-0 victory over Lincoln (Mo.), before falling to Drury, 4-2.
Alabama State registered 10,835 total pins for a 164.0 team average.
Hresko was the top bowler for Alabama State as she finished 31st overall among individuals, averaging a 177.8 through five traditional games.
The Lady Hornets return to action Friday-Sunday at the Southwestern Atlantic Conference (SWAC) West Round-Up in Houston, Texas.
