Alabama State goes 2-1 during final day of SWAC West Round-up

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State women's bowling team concluded play on Sunday by going 2-1 during the final day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Round-up at the Emerald Bowl.
 
The Lady Hornets (31-44 overall, 4-8 SWAC) defeated Southern (914-836) and Alabama A&M (793-629) during the final day. Alabama State's lone loss came to Grambling State (794-839).
 
Against Southern, Rebecca Hresko led the team with a 238, while Gabrielle Hosein added a 185. The Lady Hornets got a 182 by Jessica Sawmiller in the win over Alabama A&M.
 
Hresko finished ninth individually as she dropped 1,852 total pins in 10 games and averaged a 185.2. Sawmiller placed 21st in 10 matches, averaging a 173.5 and 1,735 total pins.
 
Alabama State will look to keep the momentum going this weekend as the Lady Hornets travel to Pensacola, Fla., to participate in the FAMU Rattler Invitational.
