MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State women's bowling team is set to continue Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Friday with the East Division Round-Up in D'Iberville, Miss. The round up is a three-day event, ending on Sunday.
Teams competing include: Alabama A&M,
Alabama State, Grambling State, Jackson State, Prairie View A&M, Southern and Texas Southern.
Alabama State, which is fifth in the standings, comes into the weekend 4-8 in SWAC play and 42-46 overall. The last time the Lady Hornets took the lanes was Jan. 27-29 at the Rattler Invitational as Alabama State won the event, defeating No. 23 UAB in the finals.
In that tournament, Alabama State had two placed on the all-tournament team and three finished inside the top 10 individually.
Rebecca Hresko and
Haley Young were selected to the all-tourney team.
Hresko finished third individually with a 993 total pinfall and averaged a 198.6 in five team games. Young finished fifth (981 total pins) in five team matches with a 196.2.
Jessica Sawmiller registered an eighth-place finish with a 191.4 average.
Alabama State has two bowlers inside the top 25 in SWAC individual standings. Hresko ranks ninth with 1,852 total pins and averages 185.2. Sawmiller is 21
st through 10 games, averaging 173.5 and 1,735 total pins.

th-28
th, respectively.
After the SWAC East Round-up, Alabama State takes a month off before returning to action March 1719 at the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. returns to action January 27-29 in Pensacola, Fla., at the FAMU Rattler Invitational.
