D'IBERVILLE, Miss. – The Alabama State University women's bowling team completed the second day of action at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Round-up on Saturday as the Lady Hornets picked up wins over Grambling State, Alabama A&M, Texas Southern and Jackson State.
In the opening match of the day, the Lady Hornets (47-50 overall, 9-12 SWAC) defeated Grambling State, 972-790 as
Rebecca Hresko rolled a game-high 254. Alabama State followed that with a 963-623 victory over rival Alabama A&M. Hresko tossed a game-high 269, while
Haley Young added a 232.
The Lady Hornets won the third match, defeating Texas Southern, 876-866, as Hresko and Young combined for 419 total pins. Alabama State edged Jackson State in the fourth match, 925-922, as
Tiarra Wilkins rolled a game-high 243, while Young finished with a 214.
In the final match of the day, Alabama State fell to Prairie View A&M, 878-938.
In the five matches on Saturday, Hresko totaled 1,113 pins for a 222.6 average. Young averaged a 202.0 and 1,010 total pins.
Alabama State returns to action on Saturday morning with the second day of action at the SWAC East Round-up in D'Iberville, Miss.
