Alabama State to play four games at Hoover Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University baseball team, fresh off its first victory over the season, will hit the road this weekend to take on Iowa and Morehead State at the Hoover Classic in Hover, Ala.
 
The Hornets (1-3) will take on Iowa (2-2) in the first game of the day at noon on Friday. Alabama State will conclude its first day of the classic against Morehead State (3-2).
 
In the Hornets win on Wednesday night against UAB, Alabama State picked up its first win of the year and gave head coach Jose` Vazquez his first career coaching victory. Also, the win snapped a five game winning streak by the Blazers as the Hornets' last win came in April of 2013.
 
Iowa comes into the weekend fresh off an 8-1 win over Loras College on Wednesday, while Morehead State defeated Mississippi State, 13-8, in its only mid-week game.
 
On Saturday, Alabama State plays at noon against Morehead State, followed by the final game of the weekend for the Hornets at 4 p.m. against Iowa.
 
First pitch on Friday is set for 12 p.m. at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Ala.
