MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University baseball is coming off a series win against Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival Jackson State as the Hornets prepare for a two-game series against Army in Emerson, Ga.
Alabama State (7-9) will play back-to-back games against Army at the Lake Point Sports Complex starting Tuesday at 5 (central time) and 1 p.m. (central) on Wednesday.
The Hornets picked up their second consecutive series win in SWAC play over the weekend as Alabama State defeated Jackson State, 5-0, on Friday and 15-7 on Saturday. The Tigers salvaged a game in the series with a 4-1 win on Sunday.
Army (4-10), which has dropped six out of its last eight games, is coming off of a four-game weekend series against Georgia State and Bowling Green. After back-to-back losses, the Black Knights picked up a 5-0 win over Bowling Green on Saturday, before closing out the weekend with a 5-2 loss to Georgia State.
This is the first matchup in the series for both teams as first pitch against the Black Knights is set for 5 p.m. (central) on Tuesday.
