Alabama State to visit Florida A&M on Wednesday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Alabama State University baseball team will take to the road one final time in the month of March on Wednesday as the Hornets visit Tallahassee, Fla., to face Florida A&M.
 
Alabama State (10-15) is coming off its first sweep of the season over the weekend at Mississippi Valley State. After cruising to a 14-2 win on Friday, the Hornets had to rally to defeat the Delta Devils, 7-6, in 10 innings in game 1 on Sunday and held off MVSU in game 2, 7-5.
 
Florida A&M (15-9) went 1-2 over the weekend at South Florida. The Rattlers fell on 11-1 on Friday, but bounced back with a 3-2 win on Saturday. FAMU dropped the final game of the series, 7-1, on Sunday.
 
Alabama State is 9-4 against Florida A&M and 3-3 in Tallahassee since 2009. In their only matchup last season, the Rattlers walked away with a 14-8 victory in Montgomery, Ala.
 
First pitch on Wednesday is set for 4 p.m. (Central) at Moore-Kittles Field.
 
After the mid-week game against Florida A&M, Alabama State will play its next four games at home, including a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series against Alcorn State, starting at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex.
