JONESBORO, Ark. | Alabama State remains 12th heading into the final day of the Mid-Winter Classic hosted by Arkansas State after the second day of play.
 
The Lady Hornets tallied 4,675 pins during Traditional play Saturday, leaving them with 9.376 total pins for the tournament. They rolled an average of 187.5 per game during the first two days of the tournament.
 
Alabama State (31-17), struggled in the second day of the tournament, facing arguably the toughest schedule of any team playing in the tournament.
 
The 22nd-ranked Lady Hornets opened play on Saturday against Drury, claiming a 1,016-999 victory. The would fall in their next match against 19th-ranked Louisiana Tech, 1,014-990; before falling to second-ranked and defending national champion McKendree 1,124-940.
 
Alabama State fell to third-ranked Arkansas State 1,022-891, before closing out with a 1,014-838 loss to Tulane.
 
Tiarra Wilkins was the top bowler for the Lady Hornets as she totaled 975 pins for an average of 195 to place in the top 40. Alize Stevenson finished in the top 50 with 957 pins for an average of 191.40. Jessica Sawmiller finished with 926 pins for the Lady Hornets.
 
Alabama State returns to action Sunday in the best-of-seven series against Louisiana Tech.
