DALLAS | Allison Sledge finished second with a 187.3 average as Alabama State wrapped up the weekend at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Roundup Sunday afternoon.

Sledge finished the weekend with 2,247 pins in 12 games to register her average for the weekend, which was just 1.7 behind Denishya Wallker of Texas Southern who finished with a 189.0 average in 11 games.

Jessica Sawmiller finished in the top five for the weekend for the 22nd-ranked Lady Hornets, with an average of 180.9 to finish tied fourth with Violet Kirk of Jackson State as both finished with 2,533 pins in 14 games.
Tiarra Wilkins finished 15th for Alabama State with an average of 176.0, while
Haley Young (175.4) and
Miranda Remmel (175.0) finished 16h and 17th respectively.

Alize Stevenson finished fourth among freshman over the weekend with an average of 171.6 with 2,470 pins.

Alabama State (39-24, 7-5 SWAC) opened the day with an 857-670 victory over Grambling State with an average of 171.4 in the game, before falling to Jackson State 858-828. The Lady Hornets split their final two games of the day, defeating Southern 884-851 and falling to Texas Southern 992-940.

Over the course of the weekend, Alabama State finished the weekend with the most pins, recording 12,360 and they also finished with the best average of any team in the conference at 176.6.
