MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Just one week removed from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Roundup, Alabama State returns to action this weekend at the Rattler Invitational hosted at Cordova Lanes in Pensacola (Fla.) beginning Friday.
Â
Alabama State (39-24) will face the likes of Alabama A&M, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, Grambling State, Southern, Spring Hill and Belmont Abbey over the course of the three day event.
Â
The format for the tournament will stay the same as the previous three tournaments this season. The opening day will feature Baker play with total pins, with day two featuring traditional play (five-person team games). The final day will be match play with a best of seven Baker match. The current season's NCAA playing rules will be used for competition and any tied matches will be broken using the NCAA modified Baker format.
Â
The five individuals that accumulate the highest total pin total during traditional team games will earn a spot on the All-Tournament team, with the highest average being awarded the Most Valuable Bowler of the tournament.
Â
The tournament begins Friday – beginning at 10 am - and runs through Sunday.
