MONTGOMERY, ALA. | The Alabama State bowling team closes out the fall portion of their schedule with The Hornet Classic at Brunswick Zone Montgomery Lanes, November 16-18.
The tournament is the lone home event on the schedule for Alabama State (15-24) and the final of 2018 before the Lady Hornets return to action in 2019 at the MidWinter Classic in Arkansas. Following five more wins at the Sonic Boom Invitational, head coach

"We have some very good teams coming in this weekend, including a couple of nationally ranked team in UAB and La. Tech. The competition will be stiff but it also gives us the opportunity to see where we can continue to improve and build momentum," Alabama State head coach
Andrew Chatmon said. "Bowling is very comfort level and confidence based, to really perform well you have to be in the right state of mind, 'The Hornet State of Mind.'

Alabama State will be joined in the tournament by Alabama A&M, Florida A&M, Grambling State, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, Southern and UAB.Â
The Tournament gets underway Friday at 8:45 a.m. with teams competing in five, total pin Baker matches. Saturday, the teams will compete in traditional style play, beginning at 9:45 a.m. Sunday will feature a best of seven Baker match as the teams aim to advance through a pre-seeded bracket. The seeding will be determined by each club's respective performance throughout the weekend. At the conclusion of the tournament, a brief awards ceremony will be held to honor the top performers from the competition.
