MONTGOMERY, ALA. | Alabama State recorded its highest finish of the season with a fourth place result at this weekend's Hornet Classic.
Despite winning just one of three matches on Sunday, the Lady Hornets left the weekend with a 9-4 overall record to bring their total season record to 24-28. Alabama State finished ahead of Jackson State, Southern, Grambling State and Alabama A&M. UAB earned the tournament crown while Louisiana Tech (second place) and Florida A&M (third place) rounded out the top three.
Alabama State finished with a 5-3 mark in Baker play and notched 7,452 total pins for an average of 177.43 per game. In the traditional setting, the Lady Hornets totaled 4,511 pins, averaging a robust 902.20 pins per contest.
The Lady Hornets will enjoy some time off before returning to action January 11th at the Mid-Winter Classic in State University, Ark.
