MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will play in a tournament for the fourth consecutive weekend this season, when travel to Madeira Beach (Fla.) for a tournament hosted by Eastern Michigan.
Alabama State (4-10) will enter the tournament after dropping all five of their contests in the Frost Classic hosted by Chattanooga last weekend, and are looking to end a seven game losing streak.
The Lady Hornets will open play Friday against Villanova at 1:30 pm (est), followed by the host team Eastern Michigan at 6:30 pm (est). Alabama State will play a doubleheader Saturday against Incarnate Word at 4 pm (est) and Buffalo 6:30 pm (est), before ending the tournament Sunday against La Salle at 9 am (est).
Casey Durham leads the Lady Hornets in hitting .324 with 12 base hits with six runs scored and eight stolen bases. On the mound,
Vanessa Bradford (2-3, 2.47 era) leads the way with 34.0 innings pitched, while
Justine Jean ( 1-2, 6.30 era) has given up 28 runs on 30 hits in six starts this season.
