MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will play its first home contest in three weeks at the Barbara Williams Complex, hosting Jacksonville State Tuesday night.

Alabama State (8-16) enters the contest after winning all three games this past weekend at the HBCU Classic in Acworth (Ga.), as they outscored their opponents 32-8. The Lady Hornets recorded wins over Savannah State (8-3) and UMES (13-4), before run-ruling South Carolina State 11-1 in what turned out the be the finale due to rain.

Kristin Gunter leads the team with a .362 batting average with 13 runs off of 21 hits, while adding a homerun and six runs batted in. Meanwhile,
Taylor Rosser is hitting .346 with three home runs and 10 runs batted in, while
Hailey Walker is hitting .314 with three home runs and 11 runs batted in.
Charlene Castro leads the team with 13 RBI, while hitting .298 with a pair of home runs and five doubles. As a team, Alabama State enters the contest hitting .259 as a team with 51 extra base hits, including 12 homeruns.

Vanessa Bradford (2-5) leads the Alabama State pitching staff with a 3.72 earned run average in 46 innings pitched. Meanwhile,
Justine Jean has logged 48.2 inning this year 23 strikeouts, and
Skyler Sullivan 36 innings.

The contest will begin at 5 pm, and admission is free to all home softball games.
