MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road for a mid-week contest, heading to Birmingham to face Samford in a Wednesday doubleheader.
Alabama State (5-14) goes into the game after winning their final game of five in the EMU Madeira Beach Invitational on Sunday against LaSalle. The Lady Hornets were able to finish the contest with 10 total hits in a 6-2 victory.
This will be the second mid-week contest of the season for the Lady Hornets, as they traveled to face Southern Miss two weeks earlier.
Alabama State enters the contest hitting .209 as a team with 34 extra base hits, including six homeruns - two off the bat of
Hatty Shope from this past weekend's tournament.
Casey Durham and Shope lead the team with eight RBI's, while Durham is leading with nine stolen bases.
The doubleheader is set to begin at 4 pm, and the game will be carried on the SoCon Digitial Network.
