MONTGOMERY, ALA. | The Alabama State University women's soccer team will look to get in the win column this week as the Lady Hornets play host to Samford on Friday.
Alabama State (0-2-0) is looking to bounce back after opening the season last week with a pair of road defeats against North Alabama and Gardner-Webb.

Birgit Rijnders provided the lone Alabama State goal, while
Teaggan Ilela knocked in a goal for the Lady Hornets against Gardner-Webb.Â
Meanwhile, Samford (0-2-0) is also looking to get in the win column after dropping its first two matches to Auburn (4-0) and No. 15 Baylor (6-1).

The Bulldogs are led by forward Caroline Orman, who leads the club with one goal and two points. Stephanie Westway has played all 48 minutes in the net for Samford this year.
