MALIBU, Calif. | Ion Efrim and
Reka Szentes completed play against the nation's best at the 2018 ITA Oracle Masters held at the Malibu Racquet Club and Pepperdine University over the weekend.

Szentes dropped her opening match of the tournament 6-0, 6-0 to Fernanda Contreras of Vanderbilt, who eventually made the semifinals. She was able to bounce back in the consolation bracket with a walkover victory over Fatima Bizukova of Wichita State, before falling to Austin Peay's Lidia Yanes Garcia 6-4, 6-2 in the consolation quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Efrim dropped his first match in singles to play Aleks Kovacevic of Illinois - who eventually made it to the quarterfinals. Efrim won the first set 6-4, before falling 1-6, 4-6. He fell into the consolation bracket where he dropped a 6-0, 6-2 match to Lorenzo Fucile of Grand Canyon.

In mixed doubles, to duo dropped their opening match to the doubles team from UCLA, 6-4.

The teams return to action October 5 at the Mercer Grid Iron in Macon (Ga.).
