MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State looks to continue their unbeaten streak on the road this weekend in a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contests beginning at Alcorn State Friday afternoon.
Alabama State (3-10, 2-2 SWAC) swept through conference play at home last weekend with wins over Jackson State and Southern and will be looking for their first road win this season when they take on the Braves Friday afternoon at 4 pm.
They will stay on the road to finish up the conference weekend against Mississippi Valley State Sunday afternoon.
Team Leaders
Isabella Beortegui, a SWAC Offensive Player of the Week award winner this year, leads the team with six goals on the season and in points with 12.
McKenna Wiscombe leads the team in assists with three, while
Janae Brown and
Meaghan Fielding have added a pair so far this season. Brown also added a pair of goals and an assist last weekend.
Scouting the Opponents
Alcorn State (0-10, 0-4 SWAC) enters Friday following a conference loss to Grambling State. Christian Grybos and Lauryn Souflard lead Alcorn State with one goal each.
Meanwhile, Mississippi Valley State (1-8-1, 0-4 SWAC) dropped their last contest to UAPB. They are led by Beatriz Kretteis with three goals.
