BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State's Arion Span was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Runner of the Week for the third time this season after her performance at the UAH Charger XC Open, announced by the conference office Wednesday.

Span finished sixth with a time 18:50.3 in the UAH Chargers XC Open hosted by Alabama-Huntsville this past Saturday, September 28 in Huntsville, Ala. at John Hunt Park. The Royal Palm Beach native registered an average time of 6:03.8 per mile.

Alabama State returns to action next week at the Florida State Invitational, the same course in Tallahassee (Fla.) in which the NCAA Regionals will be contested.
