@BamaStateBowl returns to action this weekend in Texas

HUNTSVILLE, Texas | After opening the season two weeks ago in New Orleans (La.), Alabama State returns to action this weekend at the Track Kat Klash.

The event is hosted by Sam Houston State in Houston (Texas), and gets started Friday morning.

Teams that will be at the competition, including Alabama State, are Arkansas State, Duquesne, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, McKendree, Nebraska, North Carolina A&T, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, Southern, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Tulane, Upper Iowa, and  Youngstown State.

The tournament will be comprised of a three-day schedule and lane draws will be determined randomly in the coaches' meeting on Friday morning. The entire tournament will be scratch and will be based on match wins and losses. Teams will compete in five-game Baker matches on Friday, followed by five traditional game matches on Saturday. The teams will then be seeded based on total pins for the racket round on Sunday, which will three Baker best of seven games.
