D'IBERVILLE, Miss. | Allison Sledge, Emani Davis and Alize Stevenson finished first, second and third, respectively, and Alabama State closed out the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular season with a second-place finish at the SWAC East RoundUp.

Sledge won the individual tournament crown after a stellar 220.57 average.

The Lady Hornets and the other top six finishers in team standings will reconvene in Arlington, Texas from March 22-24 for the 2019 SWAC Women's Bowling Tournament at the International Training and Research Center.

The Lady Hornets finished the regular season with a 19-5 league mark, missing out on the top spot by just one game as Prairie View A&M (20-4) won the regular season crown. The Lady Panthers opened the day with a dramatic 1,120 - 1,096 victory against Alabama State before the Lady Hornets recovered by knocking off Texas Southern 1,070 – 938 and Alabama A&M 1,081 – 816.

Noteworthy
The Lady Hornets ended the conference season with the highest average pins per game (197.23) and the highest total pin count (27,613).

Seven Alabama State bowlers finished in the top-25.

Alabama State bowled a cumulative 1,000-plus points in 10 of 14 matches this weekend.
 
What's Next
Alabama State will play in two tournaments before the SWAC Tournament, beginning with the Mardi Gras Invitational March 1 – 3 in Baton Rouge, La.
