@BamaStateBowl closes regular season at TNBA/HBCU Invitational

Alabama State competes in their final tournament before SWAC championships

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State competes in their final regular season tournament at the TNBA/HBCU Invitational, one week prior to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championships.

The tournament will take place March 15-17 at the Cypress Lanes in D'Iberville (Miss.). The final regular season tournament will be hosted by Jackson State, the second trip to D'Iberville this season for the Lady Hornets.

Alabama State (69-46) will play in the tournament that will use a scratch scoring system. Five-player teams will participate in a three-day competition that includes ten qualifying round matches and multiple rounds of playoff matches. Competition will consist of a five (5) matches day one and two, total pins. Day three will be step-ladder best 4 of 7 competitions.

The opening day of the tournament will feature Baker play. The match schedule and number of matches will be determined by field size, with first consideration based upon cross-region matches. Depending on number of teams participating will be determined by Head Official based upon blind draw.

On the second day of the tournament, they will play in Traditional Team matches. The match schedule and number of matches will be a continuation of pool play from round one. Results from round one will carry over. On the final day of the tournament, the Lady Hornets will have Match Play. The number of rounds will be determined by field size, with each round consisting of a Best 4 of 7 Baker Match. The match play round will consist of three to four rounds.

The current season's NCAA playing rules (2018-19 edition) will be used for this competition. Tied matches will be broken immediately upon completion of the match; ties will be broken using the NCAA modified baker format.
