MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road Wednesday looking to bounce back from their series loss to Alabama A&M over the weekend, facing 12th-ranked Auburn in non-conference action at Jane B. Moore Field.

Alexis Sydnor leads the team in hitting at .419 with three home runs, while
Vanessa Bradford is hitting .362 with a pair of home runs. Meanwhile,
Kristin Gunter is hitting .339 in 35 games this season, collecting 38 hits and scoring 22 runs; while
Hailey Walker is hitting .329 and
Charlene Castro (.302) has a team-high 25 runs batted in.
Castro (3-2) leads the pitching staff with a 2.14 earned run average in 16 appearances, while logging 54.2 innings and has struck out 29 batters. Meanwhile,
Justine Jean (7-9, 5.28 ERA) has logged a team-high 102.1 innings pitched and has struck out 62. Bradford (7-7, 4.22 ERA) has struck out 45 batters in 70.1 innings this season.
They will be facing an Auburn team coming off a series loss to South Carolina in a SEC play.
They are led by Taylon Snow at .370 with 50 hits, while Casey McCrackin is hitting .370 on the year; while four other players are hitting over .300 for the Tigers. Tannon Snow (.368) has recorded 12 home runs, and Brittany Maresette is hitting .359 to round out the players hitting over 300.
The Auburn pitching staff has recorded a 2.52 earned run average through 33 games this season, and is led by Makayla Martin (11-2, 1.31 ERA) and Lexie Handley (5-1, 2.75 ERA).
