MONTGOMERY, Ala.| For the second consecutive year, Alabama State will play at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium as they play host to Troy in the second annual MAX Stingfest Tuesday night.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 pm, and tickets are still available by visiting BiscuitsBaseball.com or by called 334-323-BALL.
Alabama State (25-20) enters the game after a series win over Jackson State that wrapped up the East Division championship and the top seed from the division in the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament. The Hornets also claimed their eight series win in conference play, and their ninth weekend series win of the season.
Meanwhile, Troy (22-22) enters after the series on the road in Little Rock, and defeated the Hornets in walk-off fashion the first two times these two teams met in Troy. The Trojans used a bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off Alabama State in that first game.
Alabama State is hitting .291 as a team and have stolen 73 total bases, while
Yamil Pagan leads the team with 13 home runs and is among the nation's leaders in runs.
Noel Cheneau leads Alabama State in hitting .344 and has nine home runs with 20 stolen bases.
