BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State's Arion Span was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week after her performance at the Falcon Classic, announced by the conference office Wednesday.

Span led all Alabama State runners in the Falcon Classic hosted by Montevallo last week with a top 15 finish. Span finished 15th overall in the race with a time of 19:06.18.

Alabama State returns to action Friday night on the road at the Chattanooga Twilight, the first race outside the state of Alabama for the Hornets.
