MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State will run for the second consecutive week in-state, hitting the course in Montevallo at the Falcon Classic Saturday morning at 9 am.
They will look to build off their first race in which
Arion Span led all Alabama State runners on the women's side with a time of 15:11.10 at the Strut's Season Opener. She was followed by
Vinnelle Grant in a time of 16:24.80, and
Mariyah Archibald with a time of 16:29.70.
Meanwhile, on the men's side,
Abdi Hussein led the Hornets across the line in a time of 16:15.20, while
Matthew Kibet came across in a time of 16:41.90. They were both followed by
Daniel Quizon in a time of 16:48.90
Last Year at Falcon Classic
Span finished 28th overall in the race to lead Alabama State, while Archibald (32nd) in a time of 19:50.74. Grant finished in a time of 21:41.41.
Hannah Mezidor finished in a time of 22:06.28,
Shamaria Lovett at 24:32.79 and
Kleo Torres in a time of 25:18.63.
On the men's side, Kibet finished 38th overall in a time of 26:39.53, while teammate
Kevin Smith finished with a time of 29:54.95. Andre Jackson finished in a time of 30:29.21, while a pair of teammates finished within three minutes of Jackson.
