MONTEVALLO, Ala. | Alabama State competed in their second in-state cross country race in consecutive weeks, with a pair of runners on each side finishing inside the top 40 in their respective races.
On the men's side,
Abdi Hussein finished 22nd with a time of 25:41.37, while
Matthew Kibet finished 31st overall with a time of 26:16.28.
Brandon Phillips finished with a time of 29:24.01 and
Ricky Thornton a time of 29:38.85 in the 8K race.
Meanwhile, on the women's side,
Arion Span finished 15th with a time of 19:06.18, followed by
Vinnelle Grant inside the top 40 with a time of 20:52.47.
Mariyah Archibald and
Hannah Mezidor finished close behind with times of 20:57.47, and 21:55.51 respectively.
Alabama State returns to action September 13 on the road in the Chattanooga Twilight.
