@BamaStateBowl in second place following two days of SWAC play

DALLAS, Texas | Alabama State won three of their four matches on day two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) West Roundup Saturday, keeping pace with Jackson State atop the conference standings.

Through two days of the tournament, Alabama State (32-28, 6-2 SWAC) just one-half game back of Jackson State with four matches remaining on Sunday – the final day of the tournament. The Lady Hornets started the day with a 962-791 win over Texas Southern, before dropping an 827-793 match to Alabama A&M to drop their day two record to 1-1.

They finished the day with two straight victories over Prairie View A&M (875-868) and Jackson State (869-803).

Allison Sledge sits second individually for Alabama State heading into the final day of the tournament with 1,870 pins and an average of 187.00 – trailing only Patricia Rosales of Prairie View A&M (191.80). She is joined in the top 10 by Alize Stevenson in eighth with 1,432 pins for an average of 179.00.

Alabama State finishes up the tournament with four matches Sunday, beginning with Grambling State.
