TALLAHASSEE, Fla. |Â Alabama State finds itself near the top of the standings after winning seven of its nine matches on day two of the Rattler Invitational hosted by Florida A&M.
The Hornets (43-30) won all four of their matches on day one then came back and won three more matches on the second day of competition.

Alabama State started things off by beating SWAC foe Grambling State 802-681. The day kept rolling as the Lady Hornets defeated both Bethune-Cookman and rival Alabama A&M by scores of 880-691 and 803-749, respectively. They then closed the day the same way it started, dominating Grambling State in an 889-631 victory.

Entering Sunday's final round of competition, the Lady Hornets trail only host Florida A&M in terms of average score per game – FAMU leads 173.9 to 171.7.

Individually,
Bailee Chapman has been the squad's top bowler – averaging 186.80 per game currently. Chapman sits in third place behind a pair of Rattler bowlers in Keondra Eaton and Chelsie Cleaves.
Emani Davis (181.8) at fifth and
Allison Sledge (179.80) at seventh are the next two ASU individuals in the standings.
