Sydnor Named Player of the Week; @BamaStateSB Heads to No. 18 UGA

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Sandwiched between a couple of home tournaments, Alabama State will head out on the road for a mid-week contest against No. 18 Georgia Tuesday night at Jack Turner Stadium. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. (CT) and the game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

The Lady Hornets (6-8) will be led by senior Alexis Sydnor into the matchup after she was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Player of the Week Monday evening. Over the weekend at the Stinger Classic, the Opelika native stuffed the stat sheet going 8-for-11 at the plate with five RBIs, four runs, three doubles and two stolen bases.

The 18th-ranked Bulldogs have started the season 14-3 with three wins over teams ranked in the top 25. Georgia and Alabama State have met just once before on the softball field, with the Bulldogs taking the lone meeting on March 9, 2004.
