MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to conference play this weekend in the SWAC East Roundup in D'Iberville (Miss.) as the teams compete for the regular season championship.

The Lady Hornets enter the tournament on top of the conference following the SWAC West Roundup earlier this year. They hold a one-game lead over Jackson State and Prairie View A&M heading into the weekend.

Joining Alabama State in conference play this weekend will be Prairie View A&M, Alabama A&M, Grambling State, Jackson State, Southern and Texas Southern. The tournament will not follow the format that normally takes place in tournament play, as each day this weekend will be traditional play. The tournament will begin on Friday at 10 am with five traditional matches and resumes Saturday with the same schedule. The final day of the tournament, Sunday, will begin at 9 am and feature four matches.

The schedule will be determined Friday morning as teams draw numbers prior to play beginning.
