@BamaStateBowl slips in conference standings after day one of Roundup

D'IBERVILLE, Miss. | Alabama State dropped in the conference standings as the regular season ends this weekend, dropping three of their five matches on the day at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Roundup Friday.

Alabama State (46-35, 12-5 SWAC) entered the final weekend of conference play with a one game lead over Prairie View A&M, and now trail the Panthers by two games in the loss column. The day started off with a pair of losses to Jackson State (938-791) and Texas Southern (936-895), before the Lady Hornets were able to get things going in the win column in their third match of the day.

The Lady Hornets picked up wins over Southern (871-756) and Grambling State (877-698), before falling in their final match of the opening day to in-state rival Alabama A&M by 11 pins (876-865).

Alabama State returns to action Saturday in the SWAC East Roundup looking to makeup ground on Prairie View A&M before the final day of competition on Sunday.
