MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released a plan for season ticketholders in advance of any football games that are canceled during the 2020 season.
"I want to thank Hornet nation for the support they have shown our student-athletes over the course of the pandemic," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Jennifer Lynne Williams said. "Though COVID-19 has slowed down or stopped many things, it has not stopped the exemplary service we seek to provide our fans and alumni. While many things are still very fluid as it relates to operating under the guidelines of local and state officials, we felt that it was important to provide updates and answer questions that pertain to ticket operations, football season ticket purchases, and our new normal."
Alabama State will offer three options regarding refunds for ticket purchases and deposits. The options include:
- Donating funds to the Hornet Club, the official fundraising arm of Alabama State athletics,
- Apply an account credit towards the 2021 football season, or
- Receive a full refund for tickets, prorated or full, contingent upon the number of games impacted by COVID-19.
Season ticket renewals are ongoing through July, with the last day to renew on July 31, and can be renewed by visiting the Ticket Office online or by calling (334) 229-4551. A payment plan option is now available which allows fans to spread out payments through August 31.
Single game tickets go on sale August 3, by calling the Ticket Office or visiting online; physical tickets will not be sold the day of the game at ASU Stadium due to COVID-19. However, single game tickets will be on sale through the digital platform by visiting the Ticket Office online.
Alabama State will follow recommendations outline by the University, and local, state, and federal government officials. Social distancing will be required throughout the stadium aligning with the University guidelines, inclusive of ensuring that seats within the stadium are properly spaced to adhere to our social distancing measures (six feet radius). In addition to the above-mentioned practice, temperature checks will be required of all fans before entry to the stadium is granted and masks will be required at all times. There will also be a reduced fan capacity inside the stadium.
Due to the ever-changing landscape and changes in the COVID-19 virus, the information above is subject to change without warning. Alabama State will continue to monitor all health recommendations from our local, state, and federal officials.
