MONTGOMERY, Ala. |Â Alabama State will head to Huntsville, Alabama this Saturday as they are set to compete in the UAH Invitational at John Hunt Park, hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville, for their fourth meet of the fall.
The men's race will begin first, scheduled for 7:30 am, while the women's race will start at 8:30 am. This weekend's event will be a large field, with 36 women's teams and 34 men's teams competing.
Alabama State is returning to play after last competing in the Falcon Classic hosted by Montevallo, where freshman
Shamia Jones (Albany, Ga.) won her first collegiate race with a time of 20:15.03. She was joined in the top 10 by sophomore
Rebecca Bernadia (Turk and Caicos Island), who finished seventh overall with a time of 20:48.79.

The Hornets will compete against Alabama A&M, Alabama-Huntsville, Auburn Montgomery, Calhoun, Christian Brothers, Cumberland, Dallas Baptist, Delta State, Embry Riddle, Emmanuel, Florida Southern, Fort Lewis, Georgia State, Harding, Houston, Illinois Springfield, Indianapolis, Lane, Lee, Marion Military Institute, Miles, Missouri Southern, Mobile, Montevallo, MSU Denver, Ouachita Baptist, Pittsburg State, Saint Leo, Southern Indiana, St. Mary of the Wood, Tampa, Texas A&M Commerce, UNC Pembroke, Wallace State and West Florida.

Matthew Kibet (Eldoret, Kenya) finishing in 23rd and junior
Kevin Smith (Saint Catherine, Jamaica) finishing 36th with times of 28:25.19 and 29:57.57 respectively.
