JACKSON, Miss. | Alabama State wrapped up Baker play at the Sonic Boom Invitational in third place with three wins and 4,527 total pins.

They sit behind No. 16 Tulane and No. 9 Louisiana Tech in pin count with the Green Wave in the lead with 5,068 pins – a 20-pin advantage over Louisiana Tech.

Alabama State (26-18) dropped their opening match of the tournament against Louisiana Tech 1,049-937, before reeling off three consecutive wins. They defeated Florida A&M 909-844, Grambling State 936-661, and Southern 1,008-923.

They finished the opening day off with an 847-737 over Texas Southern.

The tournament continues with Traditional play on Saturday.
