Lady Hornets head west for Track Kat Klash

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State, fresh off their title last weekend, head west to Houston (Texas) for Track Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston at Emerald Bowl beginning Friday.

The tournament begins on Friday with a coach's meeting where lanes and opponents will be decided prior to the Baker competition beginning at 9:55 am. The second day (Saturday) of the tournament will feature Traditional play at 9:30 am, followed by bracket play (best of seven series) on Sunday.

The tournament features several ranked teams including No. 1 Nebraska, No. 5 North Carolina A&T, No. 6 and host Sam Houston, No. 9 Louisiana Tech, No. 14 Delaware State, No. 15 Maryville, No. 17 Central Missouri, No. 18 Lincoln Memorial, No. 20 UMES, and No. 22 Prairie View A&M.

It also features several Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) teams in Alabama A&M, Jackson State, Southern, and Texas Southern, while also featuring a team receiving votes in the top 25 in Valparaiso.

Emerald Bowl has been home to some significant events in NCAA history, with the very first women's bowling championships in 2004 played at the facility where Nebraska defeated Central Missouri. In 2006, the championships returned to Emerald Bowl when Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Alabama A&M.
