LUBBOCK, Texas | Alabama State hits the road for their final non-conference game of the season facing No. 25 Texas Tech at the United Supermarkets Arena on Tuesday afternoon.
The game tips at 1 pm and will be carried on ESPN+.
Alabama State (1-10) and Texas Tech (9-2) have never met in the history of the two programs; however, Alabama State has faced a pair of Big 12 opponents this season in No. 9 Iowa State and No. 16 Texas. The Hornets are looking for their first win against a Big 12 school in their history before opening conference play against Mississippi Valley State on January 3.

GAME NOTES
- Alabama State has faced a pair of nationally ranked Big 12 opponents this season, dropping both, but holding the two to an average of 68 points per game.
- The game with the Red Raiders will be the second consecutive against a ranked opponent in a week, having faced Texas on December 22.
- Freshman Juan Reyna (San Antonio, Texas) is still perfect from the free throw line, hitting his first 17 attempts of his collegiate career.
- The Hornets have a strong tie to the state of Texas on their roster this season including Liddell and Reyna. Other players include Ashton McClelland (Houston), Isaiah Range (Cedar Hill) and E.J. Clark (Dallas).
- The Hornets have started seven different lineups this season through the first 11 regular season games and two exhibition games.
- Junior forward Gerald Liddell (Cibolo, Texas) returns to Big 12 play after facing his former team (Texas) in his last game, scoring 16 points in the loss.
- Associate head coach Trey Johnson will coach the Hornets against Texas Tech with head coach Mo Williams remaining at home awaiting the birth of his child with wife Antonia.
